Silence (Blog hop story)

Mandatory words–planning, sieve, degree, shout, pile

Above is the writing prompt from last week’s photo reveal. Below is my story that goes with it. Enjoy!

Silence has more to say than worldly noise. When silence shouts, she listens. Whatever she was planning melts into a pile of nothing and reforms into something guided in the silence. Yet, her own creation still exists in essence; like a sieve straining out pollutants of the world and leaving behind only what matters. It is still her truth, but purer and different than what she’d made before the silence.

The chilly degree of morning mist amidst the silence of dawn demands her listening ear today. She will listen once again, for there is knowledge and understanding found in peace–harsh consequence when she follows noise.

Hey Leanne–I loved this! There’s been many times when I see one of these pictures where I want to write something like this, something deeper, something profound. But then I chicken out and go for humor (usually…). You wove the words seamlessly into the work–well done! Best of all, it’s a great message. And thank you for your kind words on my story. It was a lot of fun–glad you liked it!

Thank you, Scott! I encourage/challenge you to write with your first instinct next time, okay? Don’t ignore that side of you–explore it and let us come along for the ride. 🙂

Very well written, your words take me away into the picture shown. Your words reminds me of something the Native Americans would speak of….listening to nature, animals and the earth and learning from them. Also, respecting these things rather than polluting them with noise. Thanks for sharing!

Your turn! What would you like to say?
